REPLAY – FALL/WINTER 2015-16 COLLECTION

The Fall/Winter 2015-16 collection marks a new beginning as Replay evolves organically and coherently towards a smoother, fresher image all while remaining true to the tenets of the brand heritage. From the archives comes inspiration for a keen attention to logo/labelling, now making a newly strong and impressive graphic statement. Denim becomes the territory for edgy experimentation and research, while shirts take on an ever smarter & slicker design slant. In addition, the brand's famous eco-friendly spirit materializes in the form of faux leather and faux fur items, Waterzero washes (literally no water), plus down-free puffers with high-tech thermal padding. So soft, warm and light, these jackets offer utmost comfort and ease of motion. The four main themes: Contemporary Vintage, D-signer, Back to Black, Essential. WOMEN The Contemporary Vintage story is very much about denim. Washed, treated, ripped, reconstructed, possibly paired with faux leather, the fabric ups the glam ante. All-time favourites get a great rethinking, as in the parka with fluo faux fur lining, the army bomber with interesting relief effects, the biker jacket in a faux leather & fleece mix. D-signer talks about setting cool urban style day & night. Neoprene, nylon, thermowelding, bold colour, graphics and technically advanced prints identify top pieces, while fluid lines and fabrics in shades of black and grey do the same for bottoms. For evening there's a fab array of glitter, iridescence, sequin embroidery, so defining sweatshirts and bombers with allover patterns or foil, flock, digital, photographic prints. Back to Black celebrates the darkest of hues by presenting tailored pants with pure white sidebands, bombers in a loop-stitch knit, sleeveless tuxedos with fine studding on faux leather collar. Plus resin-coated biker jackets, faux leather maxi skirts, digital print T-shirts. As for Essential, clean design in shades of blue, grey and white offset by perfectly bright notes gives definition to latest-generation basics. Jersey, denim and nylon complete the picture, along with the new Replay logo graphics and the colourful down-free reversible puffers. rpl-1 MEN Here too, Contemporary Vintage is about taking the brand's iconic pieces to the next level. Setting the operation in motion is the classic men's shirt as oxford, end-on-end and pinpoint fabrics find new life in maxi graphic prints with a wickedly witty twist. Equally fresh is the doublebreasted wool bouclé coat with make-a-difference studding on sleeves. By contrast, D-signer focuses on super edgy tailoring, in the process elevating coats & co. to fundamental part of the collection. The two-button jacket with lapels has faux leather sleeves, the stretch poplin shirts feature a slimmer, smoother fit. For guys Back to Black ranges beyond the hue's big return to include some biker references, all honed by a sharp use of ultrasoft washed & treated faux leather. The outstanding example is the extrathick motorcycle jacket with dark blue contrast edging. Again, Essential is a matter of imbuing basics with a hip new appeal thanks to items where clean design, distinctive construction & detailing join forces with a palette of grey, blue and white shades. As for puffers and tees, they add a bright accent element. Graphics play up the Replay logo in a big colourful way, while the down-free puffer jackets are clearly reversible. rpl-2
