REPLAY REPLICA SCATTO 1972 CAPSULE COLLECTION

The idea initially arose from a look through the archives of an artisanal workshop specialized in the crafting of custom-made cleats. This culminated in the discovery of “Scatto”: a totally hand-tooled professional sport shoe dating to the early 1970s. A true gem capturing all the passion and know-how intrinsic to the art of making fine footwear, the shoe inspired a modern-day rethinking in a smart, casual perspective - without performance purpose -, with the distinct aim of finding new definition on the cutting edge of fashion. While preserving the original shape, “Scatto” took on an excitingly fresh twist through the use of colors and materials that propel the capsule into a new era where artisanal expertise meets pure fashion creativity. Four different themes tell the story of a perfect union between ‘70s athletic shoe and the sneaker of tomorrow. 1 “SUEDE” - for men only - is the concept setting the tone for the three men’s models strongest on severity elegance. Velvet soft suede counterbalances a palette of dark blue, brown and grey shades while the sense of understatement is subtly offset both by rich gold Replay logo accents on tongue and heel collar and by dynamic tone-on-tone topstitching plus a perforation motif on the side of uppers. “FULL LEATHER” features men’s and women’s sneaks where once again sleek design makes an ideal match with premium material. For guys the colors – from all-black and white to fluo orange and yellow, passing through muted navy and fog grey – are exclamatory of impact. For girls, rather, a neutral palette of pastels ranging from white and off-white to sky and powder blues all the way to a warm nude hue gets a dazzling shot of glam thanks to the metallic silver heel collar. What these two basic chromatic expressions have in common is the detailing: contrast Replay logo on tongue and heel collar, sinuous topstitching on uppers and classic perforation motif on the side. “AVANT-GARDE” talks very much about striking contrasts. Different colors and materials meet/clash in both men’s and women’s models. Light and dark, iridescent and metallic effects mix edgily with matte tones. On the male front the sneaks heighten white, royal blue, dark silver tones with a metallic glint, then switch to quiet moss/green, powder/navy bicolors. Moving in a similar direction yet with a more feminine type of palette, the shoes for futuristic fashionistas add a glossy sheen to powder, white and black hues, then end with a glittery black version. All options present dynamic tone-on-tone topstitching and a graphic side motif in reflector pearl white. “LYCRA 3D” - for men only - makes the most of color and material blocks to take this fourth selection of ultra innovative, exclusive sneakers smartly fashion forward. Sharp chromatic and textural contrasts signal the latest on the scene, as soft-firm leather uppers play an opposites game thanks to the chunky lycra geo pattern on the back half of the shoe. Colors, too, come on strong: white clashes first with grey, then with neon green; a powerful total black caps the series.
