MANILA GRACE – A magical night in Venice

MANILA GRACE AUTUMN-WINTER 2018-2019 MAIN COLLECTION

A magical night in Venice, carried along by the sparkling, vivacious atmosphere of the city’s International Film Festival. The enchanting allure of the city on the lagoon during the Festival is the starting point for the Autumn-Winter 2018-2019 collection by Manila Grace.

Alessia Santi, creative director of Manila Grace, surrendered to the seduction of the exuberant, exclusive vibes that permeate the Lido for the duration of the famous event, capturing their essence in the garments that form the wardrobe for the coming autumn and winter. The result is a collection with a casual attitude, in keeping with the brand’s DNA, but with exquisite and original details that make every outfit special and perfect for any occasion, the day might bring.

The most sophisticated, refined spirit of the Autumn-Winter 2018-2019 collection by Manila Grace is represented by the Première mood, which draws inspiration from the colours of Venice to create a versatile palette that juxtaposes shades such as petrol, aubergine and dusty grey with touches of red, pink and champagne, paired with sequin appliqués and laminated surfaces. A total look for those with a penchant for contrasts, as substantial and floaty materials are mixed and matched. Knitwear with precious designs is paired with light, super-fine fabrics like silk and satin used for printed dresses and shirts. Outerwear, including coats, parkas, and maxi quilted jackets, flits from oversize proposals to more fitted silhouettes and is embellished with luxury details like faux fur inserts, gold buttons and embroidery on materials like velvet and wool.

The Première theme also boasts 3 special capsule collections. Special occasion dresses are designed for the glitziest occasions that characterize winter time and the holiday season in particular. It centers around dresses, skirts, jackets, and trousers in materials with a refined touch, like opaque faux leather and stretches viscose, opaque sequin fabric combined with finish details in shiny satin and stretch velvet, twinned with shirts and blouses in viscose. Articulated in a palette of 4 shades (red, pink, off-white and black) and finished with details like eye-catching zips, wool embroidery and gold buttons, the garments of the Special occasion dresses capsule can also adapt to more informal situations, in keeping with the casual-chic style of Manila Grace.

The Red Carpet capsule collection offers a fresh take on attire for the most glamorous occasions, with a softer style that is nonetheless sure to turn heads and stand out. Starting from the color palette, where blue is the undisputed star, bringing a sophisticated touch to iridescent velvet and satin, juxtaposed with dusty baby blue or laminated details. Twelve garments, including jackets, trousers, dresses, skirts, tops, a bodysuit and a footwear model featuring laces and glitter leather, for a clean, sophisticated mood that revolves around contrasts, like a masculine suit offset by more feminine Plumetis pleated fabric.

The Autumn-Winter 2018-2019 collection sees the Kimono capsule expanded with new prints and two brand new models: a shorter open-front kimono with a sash and a long dress with a plunging neckline and two side slits, which can also be worn over trousers.

The most contemporary and cutting-edge aspect of the collection forms the essence of the Fuori Concorso mood, which expresses the constant pursuit of innovation and experimentation that characterizes the creativity of Manila Grace. The most casual spirit is portrayed by laid-back garments like sweatshirts and T-shirts and by technical fabrics like scuba, contrasting with more feminine proposals embellished with frills, slits, and sequin embroidery. The logo plays a starring role, appearing in lettering and in print form on various materials and featuring on dresses, trousers, shirts, and scarves. The logo print is one of the season’s three major innovations, alongside two prints that revisit the floral theme: Penelope, an all-over design, and Valeria, with its geometric motifs.
