LIU JO AND DREE HEMINGWAY: A LONG JOURNEY TOGETHER

The partnership between Liu Jo and Dree Hemingway goes on, with the actress’ international beauty as the face of the brand’s two collections, Liu Jo and Liu Jo Jeans, for spring-summer 2015. Dree, 26, actress and it-girl, is not only the famous writer’s great-granddaughter, she’s also one of the most popular models, an icon of style celebrated by the most important fashion magazines. Her effortless look and magnetic beauty have been perfectly seized, once again, by fashion photographer Angelo Pennetta. The journey with Dree goes on in a deeply charming Ibizan setting: Liu Jo has been shot inside a villa in Ibiza, while a poolside setting has been chosen for Liu Jo Jeans, with the beach on the background. The Liu Jo campaign stands out for a cool attitude: the interiors of the villa are minimal, dominated by a palette ranging from white to grey. Pride of place is given to Dree’s beauty and to the trendiest looks of the collection, sometimes played down by the accessories, as in the PreCollection, where the sneakers turn a sophisticated outfit into an icon. The Liu Jo Jeans campaign stands out for an easy mood, with the almost furtive photos conveying the energy of a moment spent winding down with girlfriends, sipping cocktails poolside after a day at the beach, with Dree in the foreground as the undisputed star. In the Bottom Up shoot, Dree is on alone and is wearing the skinny fit style of the jeans, with a wonderful Ibizan bay on the background. Dree indulged in a few walks in the luxuriant vegetation that surrounds the villa, then she celebrated the end of the shoot with a dive from the private beach. There’s not just a successful family in her book: Dree studied dancing for 15 years before showing a talent for acting. In 2012, she won the Robert Altman Award for the film “Starlet” by Sean S. Baker; in 2013, she was in the cast of “X/Y” by Ryan Piers Williams, which was at the latest Tribeca Film Festival in April 2014.
