DIESEL SS15 DENIM

DIESEL SS15 DENIM

Picasso and painting. Shakespeare and literature. Diesel and denim. Can you spot the common bond? These are masters and their respective crafts. Like the greatest painters and the most prolific writers, Diesel has dedicated itself to breaking the boundaries of traditional craft to establish a new frontier in fashion. Juxtaposing modern design with artisan techniques, and adding bespoke details for exclusive appeal, this is denim as art. Like a true masterpiece, these jeans take several days to complete. Light to dark gradations in colour, worn-in treatments, hand-ripped and distressed, washed, over-dyed and bleached, these techniques are unparalleled in the world of denim. The DNA collection features new washes every season for the bravest innovations Diesel can create. While Blue Eyecons and Essentials are based on the knowledge that a great pair of jeans are a constant, and should be constantly available. From DNA comes the women’s Skinzee, a skinny bleached denim with a contrast blue denim waistband. The top and bottom are conceived separately, but treated together with pumice stones dipped in a special whitening product to create a perfect white cast on the legs and a perfectly faded waistband. Blue Eyecons brings us the men’s Krayver, a jean that takes more than four days to create and perfect. Double-foamed fabric produces a unique mottled blue effect, while an all-over resin spray treatment results in 3D vintage whiskering. The style is manually ripped and repaired for the perfect worn-in look. And this season, Essentials introduces Sandy, every lady’s new favourite style. A clean, minimal and versatile jean, Sandy is available in skinny and straight-leg cuts, and offers a supremely comfortable fit thanks to soft hand fabrics, as well as balanced back proportions for your best backside yet. Denim Atelier, Diesel’s ultra bespoke denim, draws its inspiration from painterly techniques this season. Splatter and worn-out effects, and workwear-like stripes are effortlessly and artfully stylish. Denim is manually ripped, distressed and splattered with various tonal paint colours, coated treatments fade over time to reveal the original denim at its core, and double fabrics are treated and sewn together for a couture patchwork effect.
