DIESEL DECODES FASHION CULTURE FOR ITS NEW CAMPAIGN

Diesel’s new Fall/Winter 16 advertising campaign carries on ‘telling it like it is’ , between humor and honesty, following up the two previous campaign which were respectively decoding fashion imagery for FW15 and the social media and digital world for SS16. This season Diesel decodes the fashion industry’s joyful yet absurd behavior with a no non-sense campaign shot by photographers Santiago & Mauricio. “We worked with director/photographer duo Santiago & Mauricio to shoot beautiful and impactful images where the product is celebrated with a twist on the traditional advertising images.” says Artistic Director Nicola Formichetti. “It is really important for us to continue speaking the same language that we started with Fall Winter 15 campaign and keep the connection and interaction it created with our audience.” Inspired by the humorous parallel between the typical fashion images versus their behind the scene reality, Diesel proposes a commentary on the image making industry with a touch of fun. Santiago & Mauricio captured Diesel’s rock style interpreted in a pop way and the clothes are new take on the uniform with a strong 90s feeling throughout the collection. Military classics are paired with fashion blues creating new hybrids. Different camos are pieced together, ‘parachute’ strap details run across bomber jackets The campaign features a cast that continues Diesel’s DNA, bringing together different cultures, personalities and individuals that Formichetti finds through agencies or directly online. Freedom is our flavor and you should be who you want, Diesel celebrates difference and diversity.
