\nSTORE OF THE WEEK IN GLOBAL BATA NETWORK: Budva, Montenegro, the Little Town with a Lot to Offer<\/em>

\nThe hotspot for Montenegro tourism, this resort town is affectionately called the \u201cBudva Riviera\u201d because of its multitude of beautiful beaches on the Adriatic Sea and vibrant nightlife.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the summer season, the tiny city\u2019s population grows from 16,000 to 100,000 as thousands of vacationers descend on Budva to soak up the sun on the white sands along its 11,310 meters of shoreline. But that\u2019s not all it has to offer. Bars, cafes and clubs are as numerous as the beaches giving Budva an almost carnival-like atmosphere with music pouring out into the streets late into the night. Rock concerts are also regular events attracting many big names like Madonna, Lenny Kravitz and the Rolling Stones.<\/p>\n

If the sunshine and dancehalls are not enough, visitors can take a stroll through the charming \u201cOld Town\u201d section of Budva. Thought to have originally been an island by historians, many tales surround the history, including its discovery by ancient Greek sailors and early control by the Roman Empire. Today, the influence of Venice\u2019s rule over Montenegro during much of 1700s can still be seen in architectural details of the centuries-old buildings. Full of narrow, twisting streets, this area gives tourists the feeling of \u201csomething to discover around every corner.\u201d
\nIt is here in Old Town that one can also discover the bountiful shopping Budva has to offer. Mediteranska Street, just minutes from the Budva marina, is the main shopping promenade. Bata\u2019s City concept store is nestled amidst the boutiques and designer shops of this busy buyer\u2019s paradise. Although small, like the city itself, the 65 square meters of retail space performs very well.
\nIn the summer, Bata Budva sees a steady stream of international tourists while year-round it is a favorite of the locals who simply love the brand and especially favor Bata\u2019s leather products. Store staff caters to the influx of vacationing shoppers by speaking both English and Russian, and the store stays open until midnight in the summer.
\nStore manager Violeta Bogavac explained, “For us the most important thing is customer satisfaction, and for this reason we all do our best to satisfy all the customer needs.”
