In the little village of Uqu\u00eda, in the Quebrada de Humahuaca valley, different cultures\u00a0and ethnic groups have coexisted for centuries, merging, in spite of all, one into another.\u00a0From the fusion of Spanish and native customs, the ritual of The Northern Carnival has\u00a0emerged. An event that represents something more than just a festivity, depicting\u00a0a moment that marks the rhythm of life of every inhabitant of this magical land.\u00a0Dominated by colored devils costumes, adorned with mirrors, to keep away the evil\u00a0spirits, the Carnival is a celebration of freedom and vitality, where every individual and\u00a0the community reconnect with the purest joy of life.<\/p>\n

Through the central role of masks and transported by the rhythm of music and\u00a0inebriated of alcohol, the locals abandon themselves to the flow of nature, to find\u00a0themselves, cathartically and deeply revitalized after the ritual.\u00a0In this border place, in the heart of the Andes, we have discovered that the universe\u00a0does not always move in only one direction. We have understood that diversity is a\u00a0heritage that needs to be cultivated and preserved, in order to prevent that the everidentical\u00a0imposes itself on everything, closing the doors of the human soul forever in\u00a0the face of the infinite perspectives of possible.
