SPORTSWEAR BEYOND THE PITCH: ROBERTO BAGGIO AND C.P. COMPANY
What connects a football legend and a brand that has spent more than five decades pushing the boundaries of sportswear? Discipline, perseverance, and the belief that everything truly valuable is built day by day. It is from this shared mindset that the new story of Roberto Baggio and C.P. Company for the Fall/Winter 2026 season emerges.
Some stories may seem to belong to completely different worlds at first glance, yet they share the same underlying code. Football and sportswear may play out on different fields, but in the case of Roberto Baggio and C.P. Company, they are united by hard work, discipline, resilience, and a strong connection to their roots.
The new Fall/Winter 2026 project continues the dialogue first introduced in the pages of Arcipelago Magazine 05, this time placing Baggio in one of the most important spaces for understanding the identity of C.P. Company: its archive.
Surrounded by documents, archival garments, and notes preserving more than five decades of sportswear research, Roberto Baggio sits down with Lorenzo Osti, son of the brand’s founder Massimo Osti and its current president. Pieces from the new Fall/Winter 2026 collection become part of this conversation, serving as a bridge between two worlds whose stories are intertwined far more deeply than one might initially imagine.
One of them is Roberto Baggio, the footballer from Vicenza whose talent defined an era of world football, yet whose career was built on much more than talent alone. The other is C.P. Company, the brand founded by Massimo Osti in Bologna in 1971, which has become synonymous with an innovative approach to sportswear, textile experimentation, and design that consistently pushed creative boundaries.
Bologna is therefore far more than a backdrop. It is the city where the history of C.P. Company began, but also a place that marked an important chapter in Baggio’s career in 1997.
At the heart of the story lies not sporting achievement itself, but everything that comes before it: perseverance, hard work, humility, discipline, and that personal, often invisible dimension of success, the ability to keep moving forward without any guarantee of reaching your destination.
This is where Baggio and C.P. Company meet. For both, what remains after a generation is not simply the result, but the way it was achieved. A legacy built over years through curiosity, dedication, and a willingness to do things differently.
“If we stop halfway, we may never understand the value of anything.”
– Roberto Baggio
Far from a traditional sports campaign, the project is conceived as an intimate portrait and a conversation about journey, commitment, and legacy. The C.P. Company archive, the new Fall/Winter 2026 collection, and Roberto Baggio’s personal story come together in a visual narrative of two different careers connected by the same belief: the things that truly matter are never built overnight.
